# 208 Photoshop in a Day

Instructor(s): Bryce Denison

Tuition: $125.00

This course is designed for photographers; not graphic designers. Although Photoshop CC is a deep and powerful program, we will focus on tools & techniques that photographers will use. Photoshops’ benefits are immediately accessible to the motivated beginner given its most user friendly features  and show the correct path going forward to complete your project.  Students will be guided toward improving images to yield maximum impact, detail, and technical quality in an efficient and nondestructive manner. Class size is limited to 9 students, so that a small student/instructor ratio ensures maximum individual attention. Even though we have 9 desktop computers for students to use; students are encouraged or welcomed to bring your own laptop to work on in the class.

The workshop begins with a brief theory session in which Photoshop concepts are introduced and discussed. This is immediately followed by computer lab time where students are provided with customized Photoshop exercises to demonstrate the theory behind making great images by emphasizing hands on processing.

Photoshop is the most powerful photo editing software available, but it is not built for everyone. MPW assumes that students have basic computer skills and photographic experience/knowledge; like how to make, open and name a file. MPW recommends that beginning students wanting to edit their digital images learn Adobe Lightroom first as it is the logical stepping stone into editing. If that is you, consider #209 Adobe Lightroom in a day.

Just as a reminder; all digital editing classes are held at our new Southfield campus located at 29260 Wildbrook dr. (just east of Telegraph and just north of 12 Mile Rd.)
