# 404 Soft Focus Portrait Techniques
This three-hour workshop will provide instruction and hands on experience on the techniques of soft focus portraiture. You will have the opportunity to use both soft focus lenses (specialty lenses specifically made for soft focus) and soft focus filters such as a Zeiss Softar, Cokin Fog, and Diffusion filters. Learn how to make your own soft focus filters as well as exploring the concept of bokeh and the difference between out of focus and soft focus. We will also have a short demonstration on various editing software programs that can create soft focus in your images. Model is provided.
This workshop can include the #999 Post Workshop Private shoot immediately following the conclusion of this workshop. You can get a one-hour private shoot with the model for $100.00 which may include a model release. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged and only two private shoots will be offered per workshop. Enrollment is first-come-first served.
Students are expected to bring: camera with ample media cards, wide angle and telephoto lenses, tripod and a lens hood for each lens. Just like you go to a restaurant, it is common and appropriate to give your waitress/waiter a tip or gratuity, such is the case here. You are welcome to provide a gratuity to your model at the end of a successful shoot. Suggested tip is 10% of the course fee for a Portrait/Fashion workshop, 15% of the course fee for a Lingerie/Boudoir workshop and up to 20% for a Nude/Figure workshop or more if the model rocks your world.
