This intensive five-week class is built upon lessons from the Fundamental and Intermediate classes and at least one editing class such as Adobe Lightroom Classic or PhotoShop. This class is designed to refine the many techniques and concepts taught during the several first classes the student has completed towards the creation and development and refinement of a portfolio. Many photographers have multiple portfolios to show their varied skills and expertise. A photographer does not need a degree or a certification to be a working professional photographer. They need a portfolio! MPW will provide information on which images should be included in a portfolio; what photos would be eliminated from the portfolio by way of a "Take-no-prisoners" critique of what should change in each student's current portfolio. Then, we gently nurture your vision and assist with premium printing and display techniques so your portfolio can be presented to anyone with confidence and pride. Students will learn how to prepare both a printed portfolio or a digital portfolio that can be transferred to a CD, USB drive or your web page. We provide information on digital slide show programs such as Show Pro Gold, Adobe Lightroom Classic and Microsoft PowerPoint (including how to add music to your presentation). Learn about high resolution scanning of film and computer monitor calibration. Each student will also be granted a free three-hour studio session so they can have access to create more images to enhance their portfolio. This is not an entry level class. Students are expected to have a mastery of shutter speeds, f/stops, ISO selection and the use of lenses.
