Back Button Focus is an advanced focusing technique designed to improve the photographer’s ability to focus quickly and accurately. Cameras focus by pressing down on the shutter release button however, You can command the camera to focus by assigning a different button to actuate focus and leave the shutter release button to control only when to open the shutter. Come to this one and a half hour program to see examples of why back button focus can be a wonderful technique to improve your photographs and follow fast moving subjects. We will discuss Nikon, Canon and Sony Cameras, but if you use a different brand of camera the information presented is universal enough to accommodate nearly all brands of camera (DSLR or Mirrorless). This is the technique that most of your serious portrait and wildlife photographers use.
