# 235 Advanced Lightroom Techniques
Instructor(s): Bryce Denison
Tuition: $100.00
This one-day workshop is for the Lightroom Classic user who is looking to get more out of this powerful tool for photographers.
We will look at advanced catalog maintenance and merging or using multiple catalogs. We will look at the tools used for moving images between catalogs and file locations to further refine and update your organization and workflow. Learn how to re-name your files and folders to reduce redundancy and optimize your organization. We will also spend some time how to centralize your files so that all of your images are where they should be.
The newest updates of Lightroom Classic introduced a major upgrade to the selection tools and processing. Demonstrations on these new features are a big part of this class. We will review your individual workflow and download practices to make the most of these improvements and how to use and create your own presets and how to create and use smart objects.
This workshop is designed for some who has been regularly using Lightroom for a minimum of 6 months. Students should plan to bring 10 to 12 images to use during class. Students are invited to bring in their own catalog and image files; on either a laptop or external drive for use in this workshop. Time will be allotted for your general questions on Lightroom Classic. Most Adobe Lightroom problems revolve around a file structure error, so we will spend some time on that particular problem.
Just as a reminder; all digital editing classes are held at our new Southfield campus located at 29260 Wildbrook Drive. (just east of Telegraph and just north of 12 Mile Rd.) Midwest Photography Workshops maintains a bank of 9 computers in our computer lab, but students are welcome to bring in their own laptop computer if they wish.
