909 Photographing the Classic Studio Nude
Instructor(s): Bryce Denison
Tuition: $150.00
This four-hour workshop is an opportunity to make portfolio quality images and learn how to become a self-sufficient independent photographer working with a beauty, glamour/figure model. This workshop will provide instruction on how to shoot using studio electronic flash and continuous LED Lights. We will also learn about using lighting ratios to create the quality of light that suits your vision. Learn to make the quality of light harsh and dramatic or soft and flat while photographing a figure model demonstrating dramatic poses not unlike statuary. We will accentuate the opportunities to work in the constraints of reality or explore the world of abstract regarding the figure. We will emphasize composition as it relates to line, form, shadow and highlight minimizing the use of props. Students should expect at least four different set designs including: high key lighting, low key lighting, masks as props and fabric to drape the model with. This workshop is limited to 10 students to insure that everyone gets ample time to create their images with the assistance from Bryce.
Bring a wide angle zoom and a telephoto zoom lens (at least 100mm – 105mm), tripod and a lens hood for every lens.
This workshop can include the #999 Post Workshop Private shoot immediately following the conclusion of this workshop. You can get a one-hour private shoot with the model for $100.00 which may include a model release. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged and only two private shoots will be offered per workshop. Enrollment is first-come-first served.
Students are expected to bring: camera with ample media cards, wide angle and telephoto lenses, tripod and a lens hood for each lens. Just like you go to a restaurant, it is common and appropriate to give your waitress/waiter a tip or gratuity, such is the case here. You are encouraged to provide a gratuity to your model at the end of a successful shoot.
