# 926 Essence of Woman Nude/Figure Workshop

Instructor(s): Bryce Denison

This all-day studio workshop is well suited for the photographer shooting B&W; but the lighting techniques used are also compatible for color images as well. The first hour of the workshop is spent in the classroom reviewing a slide lecture tracing the history of the figure in painting, sculpture, and most especially photography. The rest of the morning session deals with lighting demonstrations to embellish the form, the contours and lines that are the essence of woman. This workshop will emphasize pre-visualization, abstract design, and the interplay of texture, geometric line, shape, and composition. Models pose with and without props. Students are encouraged to direct the models in various settings and poses. Learn to see in creative ways you may not have experimented with previously. We will use artificial hot lights at times and shoe mount electronic flash and state-of-the-art studio lights with large soft boxes. The afternoon session will include demonstrations on rim lighting, movement and blur and finally, projecting images onto the model’s body. Learn to pose the figure model and to place lights to achieve the desired effect.
This workshop can include the #999 Post Workshop Private shoot immediately following the conclusion of this workshop. You can get a one-hour private shoot with the model for $100.00 which may include a model release. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged and only two private shoots will be offered per workshop. Enrollment is first-come-first served.
Students are expected to bring: camera with ample media cards, wide angle and telephoto lenses, tripod and a lens hood for each lens. Just like you go to a restaurant, it is common and appropriate to give your waitress/waiter a tip or gratuity, such is the case here. You are encouraged to provide a gratuity to your model at the end of a successful shoot.
