#508 Fashion Photography Downtown Detroit – A one day workshop starting Friday September 25, 2026 6:00PM-10:00PM

This Three to four-hour workshop involves photographing a Fashion/Portrait Model downtown Detroit after dark using primarily the available light of street lights and other ambient light sources for the first half of the workshop. Then as it gets darker, the second half of the class involves using both shoe mounted electronic flashes and multiple electronic flashes to supplement and blend with the ambient city light. Bryce will demonstrate the use of GoDox AD 200 flashes with remote triggers and the use of a flash meter.  We will learn about balancing the natural light with the supplimental light from the flash using techiques like Rear Curtain Sync and dragging the shutter.  Don't overlook the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Downtown Detroit architecture as well. Students will want to bring a wide angle zoom (perhaps 24-70mm) and a telephoto zoom (perhaps 70-200mm), Tripod, shoe mount flash, ample media cards and a cable release. We will meet at the foot of the Joe Lewis Fist at the foot of Woodward Ave and West Jefferson. GPS. Coordinates: 42°19'43.5621" N 83°2'40.2811" W at 6:00 PM. Parking is convenient at nearby Ford Underground Parking or on the rooftop of Huntington Place (Cobo Hall). Rain date is the following evening.  Tips for the model after class is expected.
