#604 Photograph Detroit Night Lights – A one Day Workshop Starting Friday October 9, 2026 6:00PM-11:00PM

Photograph the dynamic city lights of downtown Detroit at night! This one-evening workshop will provide instruction and opportunity to photograph some of Detroit’s night-time jewels. The Fox Theater, Greektown Casino, the Campus Martius fountains, a sports stadium (Comerica Park - The home of the Detroit Tigers) plus Woodward street scenes all contribute to an outstanding evening workshop. Students are expected to meet at the fountain at Campus Martius at 7:00 PM. We will conclude around 11:00 PM. You may want to park at the Hockey Town parking structure  (2301 Woodward Ave), so at the conclusion of the workshop will need only to walk across the street to pick up your car and drive home. This time of year you may want to bring a sweater or light jacket as it can get chilly after the sun goes down. As we will use the People Mover and walk between locations, you should plan to travel light with a minimum amount of equipment, but you will need a tripod. We will cover  very basic HDR techniques, Panorama, how to zoom during a time exposure plus the use of a tilt/shift lens.
